That post, I believe you are referring to, was made in October of 2008, and Miller has still been cranking out his fine work in good ole' Miller fashion. I think people added words to Miller's - perhaps tongue in cheek - remark in order to bash Hunter Seamons (that's me) like a banshee (tongue in cheek). But I think we're all okay now. The community presses on.....in kindred spirits.......I think.......hopefully.......while some may still think I'm an ass for whatever reason.......somebody's got to do it.....with GOOD reason......

I think Hunter's right here. Charlie got frustrated, it seems, that matrices of varying quality were coming out only days after his source, as if an attempt to steal his thunder. It was discussed heavily over at LL, and it seemed that a mutual understanding was reached. CM has indeed rolled out new sources since then- his fix of 10/27/79 in fact just rolled out a week or so ago.

Basically, my understanding is that matrices are totally subjective. There are some that I love (like Hunter's 9/21/82- an old favorite show of mine that really comes alive in a new way through Hunter's work), and then there are some where the sources just don't add up to a great blend. It's hard work making one of those matrices- lots of phase issues and synchonizing to do, and I appreciate the work of anyone who does it. That said, the Miller sources tend to be brilliant on their own, to my ear. The 10/27/79 Miller source mentioned above also makes me very, very happy.

I think everyone can keep doing what they're doing, just maybe with a bit more respect for each other than they had before that conversation took place. Thanks, Charlie and Hunter, for all the great music you've worked on.

I'm not sure why you deserve the bashing as no one is forcing anyone to download your product, but thanks for clearing that up. I dont always like the matrices available but many do offer an improvement to what's available and isn't that what it's all about?
